I’m Dry This February

DryFeb Bottle Cap

I can’t think of anyone who’s heart has not been broken by the devil known as Cancer.

And I’m really not sure that anyone needs extra convincing that we need to make headway in our treatments so given the opportunity to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society, who would turn that down?

Also I personally have had my life, family and friendships affected by alcoholism.

It’s a horrible thing to watch someone you love fall deeper in the bottle without a way to drag to them out.

And worse (but not in reference to my own parents who are loving and supportive human beings) is watching children fall into the cracks left by a parent’s substance abuse.

So this is me announcing that I am one of many who are joining the Dry Feb movement and pledging to stay sober for the month of February while soliciting donations for The Canadian Cancer Society.

And I realize that not everyone can donate but if you can please do, and please share and encourage others to participate.

Thank-you sincerely,
Mimi

About Mimi

Artist, Parent, Partner, Geek Artist - I love creating and using my hands, I enjoy home improvement projects because they give me the same satisfaction as art. Parent - My children are so lucky to have two sets of parents, and so many extended family members who love and provide for them, that I am just one player in an entire community of family, but I am the luckiest player because I get the most time in their company. Partner- There is not a day where I am not grateful to be married to my husband, and I am ecstatic to be partnered with Ashley on this project And yes I am such a Geek that my engagement ring is Harry Potter inspired and our wedding had several Dr Who nods, I even say things like "there is not enough time to watch all the Star Trek episodes I want to see"
